The Dawson Group is one of the longest standing civil infrastructure and road building general contractors in British Columbia. In the last century we have built and maintained major highways, roads, airports and other infrastructure and historical landmarks in BC and Alberta.

Our Dawson Construction and Eagle Rock Construction divisions make up one of the longest standing civil infrastructure and road building general contractors in British Columbia. Dawson Road Maintenance maintains safe public roads for thousands of kilometers in British Columbia. IRL International Truck Centres & Idealease sell, service, lease and rent International and Isuzu trucks in Kamloops, Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon, and Williams Lake.

We are looking to fill multiple positions within our team for experienced Mechanics for both Dawson Road Maintenance and IRL International Truck Centres. This position requires skilled and experienced technicians; ones who are safety-conscious, production oriented, and self-motivated to perform diagnostic and repair work on a variety of trucks and equipment under the supervision of a senior tradesman. Qualifications

Experience in the related field will be considered an asset
Journeyman Certificate in Heavy Duty or Commercial Transport Mechanic
Experience and / or certification in Automotive Mechanic is an asset
Preferably Grade 12 education; and up-to-date technical knowledge acquired through trade-related courses since achieving TQ certification
C Driver’s License, minimum Class 5. Class 3 with Air is an asset
CVIP Inspection license is preferred, or willingness to acquire
Welding experience is an asset
Capable of performing heavy physical duties
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Prioritizes safety of self and team
